Schiedel is a new name in the UK and Ireland but a company with a long and trusted reputation in Europe. The company started in Germany in 1947 and is now the market leader in Europe for chimney systems.
-Rite-Vent in Washington, Tyne & Wear, England
-Irish Stoneware in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland
-Ulster Fire Clay in Coalisland, Northern Ireland
-Isokern (UK) in Wimborne, Dorest, England
The four have come together to form Schiedel Chimney Systems.
As far back as 1947 the "Schiedel Kaminwerke" in Erbach, near Ulm, hummed with creativity and innovatory zest. The founder, Friedrich Schiedel, was the first to produce prefabricated components for chimneys.
His "Kaminwerk" developed into an international group of companies with its own production plants, licensees and sales partners in many European countries.
The stimulus that decided the company's expansion was the introduction in 1973 of the SI, Schiedel's three-component insulated chimney model which revolutionised the chimney market. The logical further development of the three-component system led to the Schiedel SIH insulated chimney with air-cavity ventilation, the first moisture-indifferent chimney system, which created a sensation in 1984 and gave Schiedel market leadership.
Pumice Chimney System Designed for Smaller Output Stoves
The Schiedel Isokern DM36 chimney system has been designed to optimise the performance of smaller output stoves, inserts, pellet boilers and cookers that have an internal outlet diameter up to 150mm.
The highly insulating properties of the pumice DM system can maintain the temperature of the flue gases even in the middle of winter, allowing them to escape freely to the atmosphere and helping your appliance perform at its optimum level.
Included in the system is a support block and stove connector, a chimney coping and chimney pot. The external option also includes a prepared access for the stove outlet and an external soot door for ease of cleaning.
The prefabricated chimney blocks are lightweight and easy to install.
The neat size of the chimney block allows it to be installed internally and externally without taking up too much space. The external installation option makes it an attractive choice for retro-fitting in an existing house.
The DM chimney system is also available in larger diameters for larger sized appliances and open fires.
