BSRIA Technical Director Now Chartered Environmentalist
BSRIA is delighted to announce that its Technical Director, Lynne Ceeney, has qualified for Full Membership of the IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and, as such, is now a Chartered Environmentalist (SocEnv), as of Tuesday 29th November.
IEMA is the worldwide alliance of environment and sustainability professionals, transforming the world to sustainability. Full membership of IEMA is the “gold standard” for environment and sustainability professionals who are setting agendas and leading initiatives within the organisations for which they work.
Lynne said: “I am delighted to have qualified for my Full Membership of IEMA and to have been successful in my application for acceptance onto the Register of Chartered Environmentalists (SocEnv). Progress through previous membership levels was achieved by study and examination, achieving full Membership. Chartership specifically required a written paper detailing experience and competences and a lengthy Peer Interview to assess suitability for admission.
Membership enables me to network among some of the leading sustainability professionals in the world who work across industry, government, education and the public sector. It also allows me to keep abreast of the wider sustainability agenda and the issues which are coming to the fore, which is particularly useful for informing my strategic and operational input into BSRIA for the benefit of our Members and the wider construction sector.
There is strong representation from the built environment sector, and membership of IEMA is one way in which we collaborate to inform and shape public debate and government policy, and to improve industry practice.”
Tim Balcon, IEMA CEO, said he was delighted to welcome Lynne into IEMA's "gold standard" membership grade and said: "IEMA's membership is an alliance of professionals who make an impact and help businesses make the right decisions. Our Full members working in the built environment are equipped, empowered and energetic experts who are leading some truly innovative projects, and I'm very happy that Lynne is included in this group of leaders”.
