The company constantly
strives to increase awareness of the benefits of its cast-in-situ
system.
What the CICO cast-in-situ system provides is a permanent lining
that will not need replacement. It is suitable for all fuel
types and has no joints to leak, or metal to corrode.
During installation it seals inner brickwork in defective chimneys
and it is highly efficient due to its insulating properties.
It is environmentally friendly – an appliance uses less
fuel for the same heat output with a CICO flue lining.
Customers who choose CICO are drawn to the company by their
depth of knowledge and continued high standards. They receive
the assurance of a high quality installation with the backing
of a national network of operators all trained to CICO standards
of competency. CICO can also offer a complete service package
including CCTV survey, advice, fireplace or appliance installation,
flue lining and chimney repairs, and fume assessment. For this
reason the company attracts a wide customer base ranging from
individual householders to builders, architects, public houses
and hotels, insurance companies, local authorities and housing
associations. Over the years CICO have worked on a number of
prestigious contracts, including several large country houses
and National Trust properties. They do not focus on any one
market sector, but by its very nature the system is called for
wherever there is a problem chimney.
With the current emphasis on flue safety, and in particular
a heightened awareness to the dangers of Carbon Monoxide emissions
in flue gas, the market is fairly buoyant given the current
economic climate. This is further enhanced by a general return
to open fires as a focal point in housing. Future plans are
to further raise awareness of the cast-in-situ system, with
a possible shift to the new build sector. The introduction of
new government Building Regulations (Document J) on April 1st
2002, which for the first time bring flue lining in existing
properties under building control, are a welcome safety measure
to protect the householder. CICO are particularly pleased to
see that these regulations actually specify the cast-in-situ
system as one of the accepted methods of lining.
